He has a long-standing interest in the identification of cancer genes and pathways through cytogenetic and bioinformatic approaches, the elucidation of their oncogenic mechanism and the translation of these results in novel therapies. While in the United States, first at NIH (Bethesda \u2013 MD), and then at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, (Boston \u2013 MA), he has contributed to the identification of cancer genes in multiple myeloma, lung cancer and colon cancer, and of tumor-related pathways such as MYC in glioma and mitochondria in telomere dysfunction. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>He has expertise in functional validation of cancer genes. Since moving to IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, he has intensified his efforts towards the identification of cancer genes and their potential use as druggable targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EDUCATION:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1997-2002, Ph.D. in Biochemistry, University of Milan, Italy.
